Day 9

 We're going to follow the beach bum life for a couple of days. It's a beautiful setting, rolling waves and tranquil atmosphere. There's not too much either side of us so it's quiet where we are. There's plenty of madness a mile or two up and down the coast. Marissa and Matara are all about the sea. It's surfing, snorkeling, boats and partying. 

Starts early in the morning with some surfing

Then some brekkie - lovely Sri Lankan rolled oat porridge on the beach - v healthy.

We took a local bus to Mirissa. That was an experience. The bus driver didn't have a lot of respect for road safety or passenger comfort.

Marissa beach is as expected - a mile or so of beautiful soft sand and lots of bars and restaurants.

We thought we'd try whale watching so we booked to go tomorrow. 

No no - not on this one!!

We bought the upgrade package -

We thought we'd chance the bus again to take us back to the hotel and we must have got his brother...... madman 2...

Yes mate - you carry on texting while you're negotiating the chaos and driving a fag papers width from the car in front. Don't worry about your passengers...👍
