Day 6

 We took a tuk tuk tour of Kandy today with our driver Riangora. A really lovely chap who took us to the cricket last night as well. 

Up into the highlands through the tea Plantation to the Buddha temple 

A beautiful tranquil place with some amazing views. 

A complete contrast to the chaos and noise of the town

On our way down we passed the local car wash... It's a little stream running off the rocks. You just pull in fill your bucket and away you go - no charge! On the way up there was a chap stripped down to his pants having a shower and washing his car at the same time 🚿

We went to a beautiful old hotel in the city centre. The Queens hotel was built in 1876. 

But the bar was full of barmy army cricket supporters.... All big beers and nipping out for smoke☹️ they all seemed to have hearing aids and replacement hips 

Kandy has a huge beautiful man-made lake built in 1807. We hopped on a boat for a mini cruise. 

Back to the Queens for some dinner and a cocktail 

The lake looks fab at night time.
